DESCRIPTION: There’s more than one way to save a life – come and give blood at the Inland Northwest Blood Center blood drive at Pilgrim’s Market. INBC is the sole provider of blood products to 35 hospitals and medical facilities in the Inland Northwest, saving lives by providing blood and services to support transfusion and transplantation medicine. DESCRIPTION: What do beer cans, car tires and water bottles have in common? Not much unless you’re renegade architect Michael Reynolds, in which case they are tools of choice for producing thermal mass and energy-independent housing. For 30 years New Mexico-based Reynolds and his green disciples have devoted their time to advancing the art of “Earthship Biotecture” by building self-sufficient, off-the-grid communities where design and function converge in eco-harmony. Reynolds and his crew also lend their pioneering skills to those who need it most. Shot over three years and in four countries, Garbage Warrior ( www.garbagewarrior.com ) is a timely portrait of a determined visionary. Following the film, local builders of a similar genre will guide a casual discussion.

DESCRIPTION: Terri will explain the benefits of utilizing diagnostic ultrasound to see the inside of the carotid arterie and abdominal aorta which provides valuable information on peoples vascular health. The non-invasive tests can be done in 30 minutes painlessly and Terri will be scheduling screenings on Monday Feb.22 at Pilgrim’s Wellness Center.

DESCRIPTION: Vegetarian Foods are delicious and healthy for everyone… vegetarian or not. Join us as we start a new tradition and develop a local network of friends learning to improve our diets, live more humanely and develop new relationships. Every other month we will have a potluck where people prepare and bring their favorite dish and bring at least 6 recipe cards to share with others. Please just bring your dish and serving utensils. We will provide plates, silver-ware, napkins and water. Each potluck will include an educational element such as a movie or an enthusiastic speaker like Dr. Ispiresco.
